ParNet is a public domain parallel network system. It works pretty well,
altho not nearly as fast as an ethernet network. However, the price
makes it very attractive. I use it alot with a 1200 connected to my
4000. I can work on texture maps and such and send over to the 4000 for
rendering on my objects. (You could just read them from the 1200 during
redndering too, altho I wouldn't suggest it due to speed limtiations)
You'll find it on most AmiNet Locations and on the NewTek BBS. Easy to
setup but the cable takes a little time to build. (I bought 2 cheap 12
foot parallel cables and cut off the centronics end, wired & soldered the
correct wires and VIOLA! a 23 foot ParNet cable!
